Ethos, Pathos, Logos: Three Pillars of Persuasive Public Speaking

Every outstanding presentation must have three essential qualities before your audience will accept your message. Do you know what these three qualities are?

  • A great opening? That certainly helps, but you can recover without one.
  • A memorable catch-phrase? Also good, but … no.
  • A dynamite set of slides? Not really… you could be persuasive without any slides at all.

To be persuasive, your presentation must have a strong balance between ethos (credibility), pathos (emotional connection) and logos (logical argument). Without even one of these, your success will be diminished.

In this presentation, you will learn:

  • What are ethos, pathos, and logos?
  • Easy techniques you can use before, during, and after your presentation to establish each of these qualities.
  • Common pitfalls that speakers make which you can avoid.
